A football star was arrested for a DUI earlier this week.

Spencer Ware, the former running back for the Seattle Seahawks, was arrested for driving under the influence on Tuesday, September 2, 2014. Ware was arrested in Kent, Washington at around 3 in the morning.

Ware has yet to be charged with a Washington state DUI and his case has been referred to the Maple Valley prosecutor’s office. Ware is due to appear in Maple Valley Municipal Court on September 8, 2014.

This DUI arrest happens to be Ware’s second DUI arrest this year. He was previously arrested on January 12, 2014. However, Ware’s case was dismissed as the judge ruled that the arresting officer did not have reasonable suspicion to pull Ware over in the first place. Ware was stopped on First Avenue and Bell Street.

Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Ware played for Louisiana State before he was drafted by the NFL in 2013. However, recently, Ware found himself cut from the Seattle Seahawks.

If convicted of a DUI, Ware may be facing a driver’s license suspension, expensive fines and even jail time, depending on the details of his case. He may also be required to attend alcohol education classes if the Maple Valley judge determines that Ware may be suffering from a substance abuse problem.

Additionally, Ware may be required to complete community service or install an ignition interlock. An ignition interlock is a device that you install in your vehicle that can prevent your car from starting if it detects alcohol on your breath. Many judges have been requiring DUI offenders to install these devices, including most recently celebrity DUI offender, David Cassidy.
