Celebrity Chef Todd English Arrested for a DUI

We’ll take one celebrity DUI with a side of a breathalyzer refusal…

If you’re a foodie and a lover of food on TV, then you’ve probably heard of celebrity chef Todd English.

The 54-year-old chef, cookbook author, restauranteur and TV personality was arrested for a DWI in Southampton, New York on Sunday, August 31, 2014.

Police spotted English driving in and out of the lane near a Southampton golf club at around 3:30 am. They pulled him over, suspecting him to be under the influence.

According to ‘The Daily Mail’, the arresting officer requested English take a breathalyzer test, but English refused according to the advice of his lawyer. Oftentimes, refusing a breathalyzer test comes with additional consequences including a longer license suspension and expensive fines.

English was arrested and taken to jail. He later posted a $1,500 bail at Southampton Town Justice Court.

English first exploded onto the culinary scene with the opening of his restaurant Olives in Charlestown, Massachusetts right outside of Boston.

Even though the Charlestown Olives is now closed, English has two Olives restaurants operating in New York City and Las Vegas.

English also owns two pizzerias in the Boston area called Figs. He also co-owns a Latino-concept restaurant called Beso with Eva Longoria. There is a Beso located in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.

English hosted his own PBS cooking show called ‘Food Trip with Todd English’. He also served as a judge for the cooking show, ‘Cooking Under Fire’. He has additionally appeared on ‘Iron Chef USA’.

According to Daily Mail, English has a bit of a reputation for being a playboy, creating a bit of a media frenzy after being photographed with several young women on numerous occasions.
