Not sure who out there is a fan of college baseball, but it looks like a collegiate baseball star got himself arrested for drunk driving.

Chris Oliver, 20, the pitcher for the University of Arkansas Diamond Hogs, was arrested for drunk driving early in the morning of Tuesday, June 3, 2014 in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Oliver, who is a junior at the University of Arkansas, must’ve been celebrating the end of the semester. Apparently, he and a couple of friends were coming from a bonfire on Beaver Lake. Oliver got behind the wheel to drop his friends off at an apartment complex. Shortly after, police pulled him over at the intersection of MLK and Razorback Rd. after he made an illegal U-turn.

Police suspected Oliver to be under the influence and arrested him for a DUI.

According to the Washington County Detention Center website, Oliver is facing charges for his improper U-turn, as well as for drinking and driving and having no proof of insurance. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 11, 2014.

A representative from the Diamond Hogs has issued the following statement:

“We are disappointed in the decision making of Chris late Monday night and Tuesday morning. We hold members of our program to a higher standard and that type of behavior is certainly not accepted on the Arkansas baseball team.”

If found guilty of a DWI, Oliver could be facing potential jail time, expensive fines and a license suspension. He may also be required to perform community service. In addition to these penalties, the University of Arkansas may impose their own internal penalties, such as a game suspension.
