Delvin Choice, one of the many talented singers who competed on ‘The Voice’ last season, was arrested for a DUI in Simpsonville, South Carolina.

On Sunday, November 9, a Highway Patrol trooper stopped Choice, 25, and suspected him to be under the influence. Not a lot of details have been released about his arrest, but a booking report indicates that Choice was taken to the Oconee County Detention Center shortly after 4 am.

Choice was slapped with a first offense driving under the influence charge. He was later released from jail six hours later on a $1,229 personal recognizance bond.

If convicted of a DUI, Choice could get his license suspended. He could possibly face imprisonment depending on the details of his case, but chances are he may have to pay some pretty expensive fines and complete community service.

Additionally, Choice may also be required to install an ignition interlock, according to South Carolina DUI laws. An ignition interlock is a device that you plug into your vehicle and blow into it in order to start your car. If the device detects alcohol on your breath, your car won’t start and you could find yourself in more trouble with the law.

Choice was a contestant on season six of ‘The Voice’. He was coached by Adam Levine and made it to the top 12, lasting seven rounds. Choice rose to prominence on the show after covering Donny Hathaway’s ‘A Song for You’.

Choice is an alum of The Fine Arts Center in Greenville, South Carolina.
