Did Miguel Violate His Probation?

After posting a photo online of himself with his Harley Davidson, singer Miguel is causing many people to speculate whether or not he violated his probation for a DUI conviction.

Miguel, who is known for his hit collaborations with Mariah Carey including “Adorn” and “#Beautiful” was arrested for a DUI back in August of last year. Officers witnessed Miguel speeding on an LA freeway and having tinted windows. Miguel failed several field sobriety tests and blew a .10 and .11 on a breathalyzer test.

Back in February, Miguel pleaded no contest to DUI charges, fully admitting that he was in the wrong. Miguel told TMZ, “Driving with alcohol in my system was reckless. I’m really sorry and I’m taking responsibility for this mistake.”

He certainly did. The judge fined Miguel $360 and gave him a 3-year probation. Furthermore, Miguel was required to attend alcohol education classes and install an ignition interlock.

An ignition interlock is a device that you install in your vehicle that you must blow into in order to start your car. If it detects alcohol on your breath, your car will not start.

Two weeks ago, Miguel admitted to taking a ride on his motorcycle in Southern California. He posted a photo of himself with his motorcycle online with the caption, “Rode down the coast to PV today . . . #holdtight #artgang #harleydavidson.”

However, Miguel’s motorcycle doesn’t have an ignition interlock on it. This could’ve be a probation violation if he were caught. TMZ talked to the LA City Attorney’s office and stated that the post alone wasn’t sufficient evidence to prove Miguel violated his probation. However, Miguel should be a little more careful.
