Former Bears Quarterback Indicted on DUI Charges

Bob Avellini is not having a good day. The former quarterback for Da Bears was indicted on October 11, 2013 for his most recent DUI charges. This indictment comes days after he was convicted of drunk driving after his sixth DUI arrest.

Avellini was most recently arrested for a DUI on September 15, 2013 in Roselle, Illinois. Refusing to take a breathalyzer test, Avellini had his blood drawn where his blood-alcohol concentration measured .181 percent. That is more than twice the legal limit!

Avellini will be facing felony charges because of his two former DUI convictions. He also faces these felony charges because he was driving on a suspended license. If convicted, Avellini could face up to seven years in prison. He’s due in court later this month.

This indictment comes just nine days after Avellini was convicted of a DUI stemming from a 2012 arrest. He was sentenced to 2 years of probation, 300 hours of community service and mandatory counseling sessions.

Avellini also has another DUI conviction on his record from a 2002 arrest.

And that’s not all!

Avellini has an additional three previous DUI arrests on his record. However, they are not convictions because he was able to beat those charges. However, despite being able to beat these cases, he still has to face 5 counts of aggravated DUI charges.

However, this isn’t the only legal issue on Avellini’s plate at the moment. Apparently, Avellini filed for bankruptcy last year, saying he has more than 2.2 million in liabilities and 1.3 million in assets. Wonder if his lawyers’ fees cost too much. . .
