The owner of the Indianapolis Colts, Jim Irsay, has made his first public appearance since his DUI arrest in March. He appeared to speak at a hotel in Atlanta, Georgia on Monday, May 19, 2014.

Irsay was arrested for a DUI on March 16, 2014 in Carmel, Indiana. Police spotted Irsay driving relatively slow and failing to use his signal. Police pulled him over and suspected him to be under the influence.

Irsay failed several field sobriety tests and was taken to Hamilton County Jail. He was later released after posting a $22,500 cash bond.

Officers also found several pill bottles in Irsay’s vehicle. Irsay has been quite open about his addiction to prescription painkillers, saying his addiction started after undergoing several orthopedic operations during an interview in 2002.

In addition to drunk driving charges, Irsay was also charged with a narcotics violation.

Irsay’s daughter, Carlie, has been taking care of the team’s day-to-day duties since his arrest.

While he didn’t comment on his personal life during his appearance Monday, he did mention his busy preparations for a pitch to have Indianapolis host Superbowl LII. He also talked about his health, stating:

“Physically, I’m feeling decent. I still have a little ways to go from a rehab standpoint and everything. I’m not ready to hit the golf course yet. But eventually I’ll get there. So, just hoping to avoid any future surgery and continuing to physically rehab. I’m feeling ok. Just trying to continue to stand up straighter and the hip and back is doing ok.”
