Lamar Odom has decided to plead not guilty to his DUI charges that he got back in August. Today, October 9, 2013, Odom’s attorney, Richard Hutton (OJ’s lawyer, if you recall), appeared in court on Lamar Odom’s behalf to plead his innocence.

A pretrial hearing has been scheduled for November 8 of this year.

As you probably know, Odom was arrested on August 30, 2013 in Studio City. Police noticed Odom swerving and pulled him over. When they approached Odom, the report stated that the former Laker had “objective signs of intoxication and was unable to perform field sobriety tests as explained and demonstrated.”

The Lush Crush would’ve loved to see that demonstration.

Odom was arrested and taken to the police station in Van Nuys, CA. Apparently, at the station, Odom refused to take a BAC test. (Similar to another celebrity DUI arrest – John Sandusky!) In a couple of states, when you refuse a BAC test, you could lose your driver’s license and face expensive fines.

CHP West Valley spokesman Officer Leland Tang confirmed that Odom wouldn’t take a BAC test.

“Because he refused both tests, we took his license and gave him a form stating that his license was automatically suspended for the next year. That goes into immediate effect,” stated Tang.

“That’s also the law across the board in California. Whenever someone gets a driver’s license in the state, they also agree to take a chemical test if they are ever stopped for suspicion of driving under the influence. And you forfeit your license for a year if you don’t take the test.”

Ugh, it looks like Odom may have the undergo the inconvenience of a chauffeur!
