Mixed Martial Arts fighter Tito Ortiz has been arrested for a DUI early Monday morning on January 6, 2014. According to the police report, Ortiz was arrested after a single-car accident on the I-405 near Sepulveda and Santa Monica boulevards.
“Ortiz was driving northbound on the I-405 when he lost control of his vehicle and struck the concrete center median,” the police report states.

Ortiz drives a 2012 Porsche Panamera and had 2 other passengers in the car. Luckily, no one was injured.

The police report went on to say, “He was transported to LAPD-77th Division for medical clearance and chemical testing and was booked without incident.”

Ortiz was arrested for misdemeanor DUI charges around 4:30 AM. A misdemeanor drunk driving arrest means he could be facing a license suspension, expensive fines, and may even have to spend time in jail depending on the nature of his case.

Furthermore, Ortiz may have to install an ignition interlock device, as that’s the rule in Los Angeles. An ignition interlock is a device that you have to put in your car that makes you blow into it in order to start your car.

Ortiz posted a $15,000 bail and was released at 8:14 AM. He has to appear in court on January 27, 2014.

Ortiz’s real name is Jacob Christopher Ortiz and he’s a native of Huntington Beach, CA. He’s a former light-heavyweight UFC champion and is considered one of MMA’s earliest stars. He’s also the CEO of Punishment Athletics MMA equipment and clothing. He was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame on July 7, 2012.
