Although his DUI arrest occurred back in February, word is getting around that Detroit Pistons forward Greg Monroe was busted for drinking and driving. Furthermore, according to the recently released police report, Monroe begged police not to let the public know about his arrest and he urinated on himself when he was booked.

On February 13, 2014, Monroe was allegedly driving drunk in Huntington Woods, Michigan. Police pulled him over where Monroe admitted to having two glasses of wine. However, the arresting officer could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from his vehicle.

The officer proceeded to give Monroe a field sobriety test, which he failed. The officer also asked Monroe to recite the alphabet where Monroe did with “slow and deliberate speech.”

Monroe took a field sobriety test where his blood-alcohol concentration registered at .08 percent and later at .09 percent and .1 percent when he arrived at the station. The legal limit is .08 percent.

In the dash-cam video of the ride to the police station, Monroe can be heard asking police not to tell anyone the arrest. He is heard saying that he “doesn’t want to be in the newspaper”, adding “I play for the Pistons.”

“You play for the Detroit Pistons?” the officer asks. “Unless you told people that are going to tell people, we don’t tell people.”

While at the station during the booking process, Monroe urinated on himself shortly before taking his mugshot.

Monroe has since been suspended from two games this season, including the October 29th game against the Nuggets and the October 30 game against the Timberwolves.
