Yovani Gallardo

Yovani Gallardo, the Brewers’ pitcher, has been arrested for a DUI early this morning near Miller Park, Wisconsin.

After hearing reports of an intoxicated driver, police pulled over Gallardo where they were easily able to suspect that the smashed-lete knocked back a few. His eyes were bloodshot and he reeked of alcohol.

The police administered a field sobriety test, which Gallardo failed. When they took his BAC test, the alcohol content in his system was nearly 3 times the legal limit! Under these circumstances, Gallardo clearly struck out last night.

The Brewers eventually put out a statement saying they are taking this matter seriously and do not condone drinking and driving. They also mentioned Gallardo will be held accountable for his actions.

Needless to say, depending on the circumstance, a first DUI in Wisconsin is only a citation. However, in the world of professional sports, a first DUI can be a rite of passage.
